Giant Eagle, Inc. is seeking a Pharmacy Technician Trainee to join our collaborative team. You will contribute to building a service-focused Pharmacy that fosters strong patient relationships and safe, accurate care.

You’ll support pharmacists and teammates to exceed expectations and achieve excellent patient, team member, and company outcomes. The role requires a HS diploma or equivalent and eligibility to obtain state registration as a pharmacy technician.

Qualifications

• Eligible to obtain registration as pharmacy technician with the applicable state board of pharmacy
• Experience Required: 0 to 6 months
• Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and acknowledge them with compassion and a smile at all pharmacy entry points.
• Assist in processing orders in person and by phone and refer questions to the pharmacist.
• Maintain a neat and clean work environment to meet company and government requirements.
• Assist team members to ensure the department runs efficiently.
• Use the pharmacy computer to complete actions for drop-off, will call, drive-thru, phone, and order receiving.
• Transcribe data from prescriptions to generate customer labels.
