You will support pharmacists, handle prescriptions, and help maintain a compliant, well-organized pharmacy environment. This entry-level role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 0–6 months experience, and eligibility to obtain pharmacy technician registration.

Qualifications

• Experience Required: 0 to 6 months
• Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent
• Certification or Licensing Required: Eligible to obtain registration as pharmacy technician with the applicable state board of pharmacy
• Lifting Requirement: Up to 25 pounds
• Age Requirement: At least 18 years of age

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and acknowledge them with compassion and a smile at all pharmacy entry points.
• Provide patient care by respectfully engaging and meeting patient needs, including processing orders in person and by phone, directing patients to products and merchandise, and referring questions to the pharmacist.
• Maintain a neat and clean work environment to meet company and government requirements.
• Assist team members with tasks to ensure department runs efficiently.
• Use the pharmacy computer to complete actions for efficiency and patient care at drop-off, will call, drive thru, phone, filling and order receiving; including searching for patients and profiles, determining fill dates, quotes, on-hand counts, and invoices.
• Assist in improving outcomes using knowledge of service and business metrics.
• Support company initiatives and programs; complete required training and exams.
• Follow all policies, laws and regulations including HIPAA and Pseudoephedrine sales.
• Finalize sales using cash register per procedures; manage POS.
• Transcribe data from prescriptions to generate customer labels.
• Maintain inventory levels by ordering, receiving, stocking and rotating drugs and supplies.
• Answer telephone politely and timely; ensure accurate information and customer satisfaction.
• Resolve customer questions by communicating effectively with customers and management staff.
• File written prescriptions daily
• For Long Term Care: may perform medication cycle exchange and medication cart audits on-site at service facilities.
