Job summary

Giant Eagle, Inc. is seeking a Pharmacy Technician Trainee to join our collaborative team. You will help build a service‑minded pharmacy that delivers safe, accurate, and friendly care to patients, supporting pharmacists and teammates.

Responsibilities include welcoming customers, processing prescriptions in person and by phone, maintaining a clean work area, assisting with inventory, and completing required training and exams while following HIPAA and all regulations.

Qualifications

• 0–6 months experience in pharmacy or healthcare preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Eligible to obtain registration as pharmacy technician with the applicable state board of pharmacy.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients with compassion and a smile at pharmacy entry points.
• Process in-person and phone orders and direct questions to the pharmacist.
• Maintain a neat, clean work environment to meet policies and regulations.
• Assist team to ensure the department runs efficiently.
• Use the pharmacy computer to complete actions for drop-off, will call, drive-thru, and ordering.
• Support in inventory management: ordering, receiving, stocking, and rotating drugs.
