Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 0 to 6 months of experience in a pharmacy setting.
• Eligible to obtain registration as pharmacy technician with the state board.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients with compassion at all pharmacy entry points.
• Process orders in person and by phone; direct questions to the pharmacist.
• Maintain a neat and clean work environment ensuring policy compliance.
• Assist team to ensure department runs efficiently.
• Use pharmacy computer to manage prescriptions, pricing, counts, and inventory.
• Assist with improving outcomes using service metrics.
• Complete required training and exams; adhere to HIPAA and pseudoephedrine laws.
• Finalize sales using the cash register following procedures.
• Transcribe prescriptions for customer labels.
• Assist with inventory by ordering, receiving, stocking, and rotating drugs.
• Answer telephone and resolve customer questions.
• File written prescriptions daily.
• May perform on-site medication cycle checks for Long Term Care facilities.
