Job summary

Giant Eagle is seeking a Pharmacy Technician Trainee to join our collaborative team. You will contribute to building a service-oriented pharmacy that delivers accurate, safe care and strong patient relationships.

The role supports a growing pharmacy, requiring a high school diploma or equivalent, eligibility to obtain state registration, and being at least 18 years old. On-site training and development are provided to ensure patient needs are met.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Eligible to obtain registration as pharmacy technician with the applicable state board of pharmacy.
• Age 18 or older.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and acknowledge them with compassion and a smile at all pharmacy entry points.
• Model excellent patient care by respectfully engaging and meeting patient needs, processing orders in person and by phone.
• Maintain a neat and clean work environment to meet company and government requirements.
• Assist team members to ensure the department runs efficiently.
• Use the pharmacy computer to maximize efficiency and provide optimal patient care at drop-off, will call, drive-thru, phone, filling and order receiving.
• Assist with improving outcomes using service and business metrics.
• Complete required training and accompanying exams.
• Follow all policies, laws and regulations including HIPAA and Pseudoephedrine sales.
• Finalize sales using cash register according to procedures.
• Transcribe data from prescriptions to generate customer labels.
• Maintain proper inventory levels by ordering, receiving, stocking and rotating drugs and supplies.
• Answer telephone politely and timely.
• Resolve customer questions and concerns with management and staff.
• File written prescriptions daily.
