Giant Eagle is seeking a Pharmacy Technician Trainee to join a collaborative team dedicated to safe, accurate and efficient patient care. You will help build a service-conscious pharmacy that develops strong relationships with patients and teammates.

You will welcome patients at pharmacy entry points, assist with in-person and phone orders, and maintain inventory and compliance with HIPAA and federal regulations.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Eligible to obtain registration as pharmacy technician with the applicable state board of pharmacy.
• Experience: 0 to 6 months.
• Age: At least 18 years of age.
• Lifting up to 25 pounds.

Aufgaben

• Welcome patients and acknowledge them with compassion at all pharmacy entry points.
• Model excellent patient care by meeting patient needs and directing questions to the pharmacist.
• Maintain a neat and clean work environment to ensure compliance with policies.
• Assist team members to ensure the department runs efficiently.
• Use the pharmacy computer to complete actions: patient lookups, fill dates, pick-up, cash handling, and inventory checks.
• Assist in executing company initiatives and programs.
• Complete required training and exams.
• Follow HIPAA and Pseudoephedrine sales policies.
• Finalize sales according to POS procedures.
• Transcribe prescription data to generate customer labels.
• Maintain proper inventory by ordering, receiving, stocking and rotating drugs.
• Answer telephone politely and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Resolve questions by effective communication with customers and staff.
• File written prescriptions daily.
• Long Term Care: may perform medication cycle exchanges and cart audits on-site at serviced facilities.
