Giant Eagle, Inc. is seeking a Pharmacy Technician Trainee to join our collaborative team. You will help build a service‑oriented Pharmacy that develops strong relationships with patients while ensuring safe, accurate and efficient care.

This entry‑level position supports the pharmacist and team to deliver high‑quality service at all pharmacy entry points. You will welcome patients, assist with processing orders, manage the pharmacy computer, and maintain a clean, compliant work environment.

Qualifications

• Must have High school diploma or equivalent.
• Eligible to obtain registration as pharmacy technician with the applicable state board of pharmacy.
• Lifting up to 25 pounds and at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients with compassion at pharmacy entry points.
• Assist with processing orders in person and by phone.
• Maintain a neat work environment to meet company and government requirements.
• Support team to run the department efficiently.
• Use the pharmacy computer to manage prescriptions, inventory, and labeling.
• Complete required training and accompanying exams.
• Follow HIPAA and cash register procedures and company policies.
• Transcribe prescriptions to generate customer labels.
• Assist with maintaining inventory levels by ordering, receiving, stocking and rotating drugs.
• Answer telephone politely and resolve customer questions.
• File written prescriptions daily.
