Responsibilities

1. Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state and federal regulations. Support other Pharmacy Department duties following company policies and procedures.
2. Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and assist with pharmacy operations, including coaching other technicians if PTCB certified.
3. Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.

Customer Experience

• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance. Resolve issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
• Share customer service best practices with team members to deliver excellent service, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
• Develop strong relationships with valuable customers.

Operations

• Assist in pharmacy practices under pharmacist supervision, ensuring compliance with policies and quality standards.
• Perform duties such as entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medicines, and managing inventory.
• Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to all policies regarding dispensing and safety.
• Handle cash register operations and assist customers in locating products.
• Process third-party prescription claims and support inventory management activities.
• Assist in clinical services and coordinate with healthcare providers as needed.
• Maintain the pharmacy environment, ensuring it is stocked, clean, and orderly.
• Follow all company policies and maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.
• Complete any additional tasks and special assignments as directed.

Training & Personal Development

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through our training program and/or state certification. Certification may be required for promotion.
• Attend training sessions, acquire continuing education credits, and stay updated on healthcare and pharmacy developments.

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, is required.
