Responsibilities

1. In accordance with state and federal regulations, assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy. Help perform other Pharmacy Department duties according to Company policies and procedures.
2. Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. If PTCB certified, assist and coach other pharmacy technicians and cashiers in operating pharmacy systems and registers.
3. Deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.

Customer Experience

• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolve issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
• Share customer service best practices with team members, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
• Develop strong relationships with valuable customers.

Operations

• Assist in pharmacy practice under pharmacist supervision, complying with regulations and company policies.
• Perform duties like entering patient and drug info, filling prescriptions, verifying medicines, and checking for interactions. Support workflow and report errors promptly.
• Handle sales and cash register transactions, assist customers in locating products, and process third-party claims efficiently.
• Support inventory management, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals. Maintain knowledge of asset protection techniques and file claims for discrepancies.
• Assist in clinical services, such as collecting samples and coordinating with healthcare providers.
• Build relationships with local medical professionals and support outreach efforts.
• Maintain a clean, stocked, and orderly pharmacy environment.
• Follow all policies and maintain respectful relationships with coworkers. Complete assigned tasks and special projects as needed.

Training & Personal Development

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the training program and/or state certification. Certification may be required for promotion.
• Attend training sessions, earn continuing education credits, and stay updated on healthcare and pharmacy developments.

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
