Responsibilities include:

1. In accordance with state and federal regulations, assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy. Support other Pharmacy Department duties per company policies and procedures.
2. Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. If PTCB certified, assist and coach other pharmacy technicians and cashiers in pharmacy system operation.
3. Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.

Customer Experience

• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance. Resolve issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
• Share customer service best practices with team members, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
• Develop strong relationships with valuable customers.

Operations

• Assist in pharmacy practice under pharmacist supervision, following all policies and regulations.
• Perform duties such as entering patient and drug info, filling prescriptions, verifying medicines, and checking for interactions. Support workflow management.
• Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to error and quality policies.
• Follow policies regarding Good Faith Dispensing during prescription activities.
• Handle sales transactions, including cash handling and assisting customers in locating products.
• Manage telephone inquiries, process third-party claims, and perform clerical tasks as assigned.
• Support inventory management, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals, and file claims for discrepancies.
• Assist in clinical services, including sample collection and coordination with healthcare providers.
• Build relationships with the medical community through outreach and detailing.
• Maintain a clean, stocked, and orderly pharmacy environment.
• Follow all company policies and maintain respectful coworker relationships.
• Complete special assignments and additional tasks as needed.

Training & Personal Development

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through our training program and/or state registration. Certification is required for promotion to senior technician.
• Attend training sessions and acquire continuing education credits. Stay informed of news and developments in healthcare and pharmacy.

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
