Responsibilities

1. Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy, in accordance with state and federal regulations. Assist in other Pharmacy Department duties per company policies and procedures.
2. Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. If PTCB certified, assist and coach other pharmacy technicians in operating pharmacy systems and cashiers in managing pharmacy cash registers.
3. Deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.

Customer Experience

1. Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolve issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
2. Share customer service best practices with team members, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
3. Develop strong relationships with valued customers.

Operations

1. Assist in pharmacy practice under pharmacist supervision, adhering to all policies, including the Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
2. Perform duties such as entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medicines, and checking for interactions. Support workflow and schedule management.
3. Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to error and quality policies.
4. Follow policies regarding Good Faith Dispensing during prescription activities.
5. Register sales, handle cash, and assist customers in locating products.
6. Handle non-urgent calls, including those to physicians.
7. Process manual claims for third-party prescriptions and perform clerical duties as assigned.
8. Support inventory management activities, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals, and filing claims for overages, shortages, or damages.
9. Assist in clinical services, such as collecting samples and coordinating with healthcare providers.
10. Build and maintain relationships with the local medical community through outreach and detailing.
11. Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the pharmacy environment.
12. Comply with all policies and procedures, maintaining respectful coworker relationships.
13. Complete assigned tasks and special projects as needed.

Training & Personal Development

1. Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the training program and/or state registration. Certification is required for promotion to senior technician.
2. Attend training sessions, acquire continuing education credits, and stay updated on healthcare and pharmacy developments.

Minimum Requirements

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
