Responsibilities

1. Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state and federal regulations. Support other Pharmacy Department duties following company policies and procedures.
2. Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and assist with pharmacy operations, including coaching other technicians and cashiers if PTCB certified.
3. Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.

Customer Experience

1. Engage customers and patients by greeting them, offering assistance, resolving issues, and answering questions to ensure a positive experience.
2. Share customer service best practices with team members, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
3. Develop strong relationships with valuable customers.

Operations

1. Assist in pharmacy practice under supervision, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
2. Perform duties such as entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medicines, and supporting workflow management.
3. Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to quality and safety policies.
4. Handle sales transactions, assist customers in locating products, and process third-party claims efficiently.
5. Support inventory management, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals.
6. Assist in clinical services, including sample collection and coordination with healthcare providers.
7. Maintain good relationships with the medical community through outreach and detailing.
8. Ensure the Pharmacy Department remains stocked, clean, and orderly.
9. Follow all company policies, maintain respectful relationships, and complete assigned tasks.

Training & Personal Development

1. Earn and maintain PTCB certification through our training program and/or state certification; certification is required for promotion to senior technician.
2. Attend training sessions, acquire continuing education credits, and stay updated on healthcare and pharmacy developments.

Additional requirements include fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico) and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
