Responsibilities

1. Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy, in accordance with state and federal regulations, and company policies and procedures.
2. Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. If PTCB certified, assist and coach other pharmacy technicians and cashiers in pharmacy system operation.
3. Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.

Customer Experience

• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolve issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
• Share customer service best practices with team members, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
• Develop strong relationships with valuable customers.

Operations

• Assist in pharmacy practice under pharmacist supervision, including entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medicines, and checking for interactions.
• Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to policies regarding pharmacy errors and quality improvement.
• Handle cash register transactions, assist customers in locating products, and process third-party prescription claims.
• Support inventory management activities and maintain knowledge of asset protection techniques.
• Assist in clinical services, including sample collection and coordination with healthcare providers.
• Maintain the pharmacy environment, ensuring it is stocked, clean, and orderly.
• Comply with all policies and maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.
• Complete assigned tasks and special projects as required.

Training & Personal Development

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program or required registration, with certification as a condition for promotion.
• Attend training and acquire continuing education credits to stay updated on healthcare and pharmacy developments.

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
