This apprenticeship prepares you for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification and helps you maintain high standards in pharmacy care, giving you a portable, recognized credential to advance your career.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist under supervision, in accordance with regulations and company policies.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and assist with pharmacy operations.
• Deliver excellent customer service, engaging with customers, resolving issues, and developing relationships.

Operations

• Support pharmacy practice under supervision, including entering data, filling prescriptions, verifying medicines, and maintaining workflow.
• Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to quality standards.
• Handle sales transactions, assist with inventory management, and support clinical services as needed.

Training & Personal Development

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through Walgreens training or state certification.
• Attend training sessions, acquire continuing education credits, and stay updated on healthcare developments.
• Must be fluent in English, flexible with work hours, and ideally have retail experience, math skills, computer skills, and pharmacy knowledge. PTCB certification is preferred.
