Responsibilities

1. Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state and federal regulations. Support other Pharmacy Department duties per company policies.
2. Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and, if PTCB certified, assist and coach other pharmacy technicians and cashiers.
3. Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.

Customer Experience

• Engage customers and patients by greeting them, offering assistance, resolving issues, and answering questions to ensure a positive experience.
• Share customer service best practices with team members, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
• Develop strong relationships with valuable customers.

Operations

• Assist in pharmacy practices under pharmacist supervision, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
• Perform duties such as entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medicines, and checking for interactions.
• Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to policies regarding dispensing and quality improvement.
• Manage sales transactions, assist customers in locating products, and handle calls not requiring pharmacist attention.
• Process claims for third-party prescriptions and support inventory management activities.
• Support clinical services, including sample collection and coordination with healthcare providers.
• Maintain good relationships with the medical community and support pharmacy and store maintenance.
• Complete assigned tasks and special projects as required.

Training & Personal Development

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through our training program or meet state requirements; certification may be a condition for promotion.
• Attend training sessions, acquire continuing education credits, and stay updated on healthcare and pharmacy developments.

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, is required.
