Responsibilities
  1. Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state and federal regulations and company policies.
  2. Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and assist in coaching pharmacy technicians and cashiers in pharmacy system operation and cash register use.
  3. Deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience by engaging customers, resolving issues, and building strong relationships.
Customer Experience
  • Greet and assist customers and patients, answer questions, and resolve issues to ensure satisfaction.
  • Share customer service best practices to deliver a positive experience, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
  • Develop strong relationships with valuable customers.
Operations
  • Assist in pharmacy duties such as entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medications, and checking for interactions under pharmacist supervision.
  • Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to policies regarding pharmacy errors and quality improvement.
  • Handle sales transactions, assist customers in locating products, and process third-party prescription claims efficiently.
  • Support inventory management, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals, and file claims for warehouse issues.
  • Assist in administering clinical services, including sample collection and coordination with healthcare providers.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with the medical community and support pharmacy maintenance and organization.
  • Complete special assignments and tasks as needed.
Training & Personal Development
  • Earn and maintain PTCB certification through our training program and/or state certification, with promotion requirements as applicable.
  • Attend training and acquire continuing education credits to stay updated on healthcare and pharmacy developments.
  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
  • Willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
