Responsibilities

1. In accordance with state and federal regulations, assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy. Assist in other Pharmacy Department duties per company policies.
2. Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and, if PTCB certified, assist and coach other pharmacy technicians and cashiers.
3. Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.

Customer Experience

• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance. Resolve issues and answer questions to ensure positive experiences.
• Share customer service best practices with team members, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
• Develop strong relationships with valuable customers.

Operations

• Assist in pharmacy practices under supervision, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
• Perform duties such as entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medicines, and supporting workflow.
• Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to policies regarding dispensing and quality improvement.
• Handle sales transactions, assist customers in locating products, and process third-party claims efficiently.
• Support inventory management, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals.
• Assist in clinical services, including sample collection and coordination of healthcare services.
• Build and maintain relationships with the medical community and support outreach efforts.
• Maintain a clean, organized pharmacy environment and comply with all policies and procedures.
• Complete special assignments and additional tasks as needed.

Training & Personal Development

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through our training program and meet state requirements. Certification may be a condition for promotion.
• Attend training sessions, acquire continuing education credits, and stay updated on healthcare and pharmacy developments.

Additional Requirements:

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
