Pharmacy Technician / Pharm Tech Apprenticeship

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state and federal regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and, if PTCB certified, assist and coach other pharmacy technicians and cashiers.
• Deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience by engaging customers, resolving issues, and developing strong relationships.

Operations

• Assist in pharmacy operations such as entering patient and drug data, filling prescriptions, verifying medication accuracy, and managing workflow under supervision.
• Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to policies regarding dispensing and quality improvement.
• Handle sales transactions, assist customers in locating products, and support inventory management activities.
• Support clinical services, maintain store appearance, and develop relationships with healthcare providers.

Training & Personal Development

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through our training program or state certification requirements.
• Attend training sessions, acquire continuing education credits, and stay updated on healthcare and pharmacy developments.

Qualifications

Basic: Must be fluent in English (except in Puerto Rico) and willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Preferred: Six months of retail experience, prior Walgreens experience, good math and computer skills, knowledge of inventory control, and PTCB certification are preferred.
