Responsibilities include:

1. In accordance with state and federal regulations, assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy. Assist the pharmacist in the performance of other Pharmacy Department duties in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
2. Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. If PTCB certified, assist with and coach pharmacy technicians in the operation of pharmacy systems and cashiers in the operation of the pharmacy cash registers.
3. Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.

Customer Experience

• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Share customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
• Develop strong relationships with most valuable customers.

Operations

• Assist in the practice of pharmacy under the supervision of the pharmacist, in accordance with regulations and company policy. Review and comply with the Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
• Perform duties such as entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medicines, and checking for interactions. Assist pharmacists in scheduling and workflow management.
• Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to policies regarding pharmacy errors and quality improvement.
• Adhere to Good Faith Dispensing policies during prescription activities.
• Register sales, handle cash, and assist customers in locating products.
• Handle non-urgent telephone calls, including those to physicians.
• Process third-party claims and perform clerical duties as assigned.
• Support inventory management activities and maintain knowledge of asset protection techniques.
• Assist in administering clinical services, including sample collection and coordination with healthcare providers.
• Develop and maintain relationships with the medical community through outreach and detailing.
• Ensure the pharmacy environment is stocked, clean, and orderly.
• Comply with all policies and maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.
• Complete other tasks and special assignments as needed.

Training & Personal Development

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program and/or state certification. Certification may be a condition for promotion.
• Attend training sessions and acquire continuing education credits to stay updated on healthcare and pharmacy developments.

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
