Job summary

Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas is seeking a Pharmacy Technician - Retail Pharmacy Department for a PRN daytime schedule. The role involves direct patient interaction, accurate medication preparation, and cross-training within the hospital pharmacy.

Strong English, computer skills, and math ability are required; RPhT status on hire is mandatory. We offer a supportive team, opportunities to work on the upper end of licensure, and a pathway for growth within our hospital system.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• 1 year pharmacy retail experience is strongly preferred.
• RPhT - Registered Pharmacy Technician On Hire is required.
• IV Certification On Hire preferred.
• Proficiency in written and verbal English, comfort with computers and basic math including conversions and ratios.

Responsibilities

• Timely and accurate preparation and delivery of medications to nursing units and departments.
• Maintain accuracy and meet department quality and patient safety standards.
• Continue professional development and demonstrate accountability and time management.
• Communicate effectively and foster teamwork reflecting Texas Health values.
• Train new employees on routine tasks under supervision.
• Help minimize pharmaceutical costs and identify process efficiencies.

Work hours: PRN- Days Availability throughout the week, Monday Through Friday, 7:30am - 5:30pm

Here’s What You Need

• H.S. Diploma or Equivalent required

• 1 year pharmacy retail experience is strongly preferred

• RPhT - Registered Pharmacy Technician Upon Hire required And

• Other IV Certification Upon Hire preferred

• Proficiency in written and verbal English language, computers, the ability to adapt to various software systems, and basic math including conversions, proportions, ratios, and algebra. The ability to work alone and as part of a team.

What You Will Do

• Timely and accurate preparation, delivery to the nursing units/appropriate departments & storage of medications, including (when appropriate) the use of technology to do so, varies by location.

• Ensuring accuracy of one's own work as well as the maintenance of required competencies, and other documentation. Must reflect consistently departmental quality improvement and Patient Safety standards, programs, and initiatives.

• Ongoing professional development and growth, leads by example, perpetuates accountability, manages own time.

• Communicate effectively, develop positive working relationships and role model teamwork that reflects the Texas Health Promise Behaviors.

• Trains new employees on routine tasks, under the direction of designated personnel.

• Shares the responsibility for minimizing pharmaceutical costs (including wastage) and discovering new process efficiencies.
