Job summary

Medical City Dallas is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join our team on full-time morning/evening shifts. The role involves ADCS, medication storage inspections, calculations, and aseptic compounding with strict USP compliance.

Qualifications include national certification and Texas registration. IV certification is preferred, with 1–3 years hospital experience and an associate degree or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties associated with Automated Dispensing Cabinets (ADCs).
• Accurately performs monthly medication storage area inspections and documents results.
• Performs required calculations accurately.
• Compounds and labels medications and parenteral admixtures with aseptic technique.
• Maintains aseptic techniques in parenteral compounding.
• Complies with USP 795, 797, 800 daily/monthly requirements.

Job Summary and Qualifications

* This is a Full Time position to cover morning/evening shifts. Hours will vary between 6:30am-10:30pm *

The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for accurately performing advanced and basic pharmacy technician functions in a timely manner. In addition, they are responsible for performing duties associated with Automated Dispensing Cabinets (ADCs), other specialized duties and/or leadership roles as assigned by the pharmacy management team.

What You Will Do In This Role

• Performs duties associated with Automated Dispensing Cabinets (ADCs)
• Accurately performs and documents monthly medication storage area inspections as assigned
• Accurately performs required calculations
• Accurately and safely compounds and labels medications and parenteral admixtures
• Always utilizes aseptic techniques in the preparation of parenteral compounding
• Compliant with all USP 795, 797, 800 daily/monthly requirements (i.e. Cleaning laminar airflow cabinets and biological safety cabinets, wearing personal protective equipment, etc.)
• Identifies critical issues, prioritize workload and communicate to appropriate personnel any issues in a timely manner
• Completes all education requirements and/or other activities needed to maintain competency
• Interacts in person and by phone with hospital personnel politely and appropriately
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Practice and adhere to the "Code of Conduct" philosophy and "Mission and Value Statement"

What qualifications you will need:
