Job summary

Texas Health Alliance is hiring a Pharmacy Technician I to support inpatient units with timely medication preparation, delivery, and storage at our North Fort Worth facility. The role emphasizes accuracy, safety, and teamwork in a high-demand hospital setting.

Work hours are full-time (32 hours) with rotating day/evening shifts, including weekends/holidays. A High School Diploma and RPhT license are required or expected upon hire; IV certification is preferred.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Required.
  • 1 year of inpatient experience preferred.
  • RPhT license required upon hire; IV certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Timely and accurate preparation, delivery to nursing units/departments & storage of medications; use of technology where appropriate.
  • Ensure accuracy of own work and maintain required competencies and documentation; reflect quality improvement and patient safety standards.
  • Ongoing professional development, lead by example, manage own time, and train new staff on routine tasks.
  • Communicate effectively; develop positive working relationships and promote teamwork; train new employees on routine tasks.
  • Share responsibility for minimizing pharmaceutical costs and discovering new process efficiencies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
Experience

Licenses and Certifications
  • RPhT - Registered Pharmacy Technician Upon Hire Required And
  • Other IV Certification Upon Hire Preferred
What You Will Do
  • Timely and accurate preparation, delivery to the nursing units/appropriate departments & storage of medications, including (when appropriate) the use of technology to do so, varies by location.
  • Ensuring accuracy of one's own work as well as the maintenance of required competencies, and other documentation. Must reflect consistently departmental quality improvement and Patient Safety standards, programs, and initiatives.
  • Ongoing professional development and growth, leads by example, perpetuates accountability, manages own time.
  • Communicate effectively, develop positive working relationships and role model teamwork that reflects the Texas Health Promise Behaviors. Trains new employees on routine tasks, under the direction of designated personnel.
  • Shares the responsibility for minimizing pharmaceutical costs (including wastage) and discovering new process efficiencies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
