Job summary

Medical City Dallas is seeking a Pharmacy Technician PRN to support mixed shifts from 7:00am–10:30pm with rotating weekends. You will perform advanced and basic technician tasks and support ADCs, with duties assigned by the pharmacy management team.

Key responsibilities include accurate calculations, compounding and labeling medications, aseptic technique for parenteral products, and adhering to USP 795/797/800 requirements to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• National certification (PTCB or NHA) required.
• Texas State Board registration required.
• IV certification preferred.
• IV room experience a plus.
• 1–3 years hospital experience preferred.
• Associate's degree or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties with Automated Dispensing Cabinets (ADCs).
• Accurately performs and documents monthly medication storage inspections.
• Accurately performs required calculations.
• Accurately and safely compounds and labels medications and parenteral admixtures.
• Uses aseptic techniques for parenteral compounding.
• Complies with USP 795, 797, 800 requirements.
• Identifies issues, prioritizes workload and communicates promptly.
• Completes required education and competency activities.
• Interacts politely with hospital personnel in person and by phone.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Adheres to Code of Conduct and Mission and Value Statement.

Job Summary and Qualifications

* This is a PRN position to help cover mixed shifts between 7:00am - 10:30pm with rotating weekends *

The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for accurately performing advanced and basic pharmacy technician functions in a timely manner. In addition, they are responsible for performing duties associated with Automated Dispensing Cabinets (ADCs), other specialized duties and/or leadership roles as assigned by the pharmacy management team.

What You Will Do In This Role

• Performs duties associated with Automated Dispensing Cabinets (ADCs)
• Accurately performs and documents monthly medication storage area inspections as assigned
• Accurately performs required calculations
• Accurately and safely compounds and labels medications and parenteral admixtures
• Always utilizes aseptic techniques in the preparation of parenteral compounding
• Compliant with all USP 795, 797, 800 daily/monthly requirements (i.e. Cleaning laminar airflow cabinets and biological safety cabinets, wearing personal protective equipment, etc.)
• Identifies critical issues, prioritize workload and communicate to appropriate personnel any issues in a timely manner
• Completes all education requirements and/or other activities needed to maintain competency
• Interacts in person and by phone with hospital personnel politely and appropriatelyPerforms other duties as assigned
• Practice and adhere to the "Code of Conduct" philosophy and "Mission and Value Statement"

What qualifications you will need:

• National Certification (PTCB or NHA) required
• Texas State Board Registration required (Registered Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Intern)
• IV certification preferred
• IV room experience a plus
• 1 -3 years of hospital experience preferred
• Associate's Degree or equivalent level of education preferred
