Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking an Operating Room Technician to support OR Pharmacy satellite operations. The role is full-time, 40 hours per week, primarily Monday–Friday, with assigned holidays and occasional weekend overtime.

Typical hours are 4:30am to 1:00pm at a Milwaukee-area facility. You will assist licensed pharmacists with technical duties, prepare and label medications, manage procurement and inventory, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Registration or licensure with state board of pharmacy per state of employment requirements.
• CPhT or ExCPT certification within 18 months from start date.

Responsibilities

• Assists licensed pharmacist in technical duties related to preparation and distribution of medications.
• Selects, prepares, and labels medications for patients including hazardous drugs and controlled substances.
• Assists with medication distribution tasks and inventory control.
• Screens phone calls and routes as needed using proper etiquette.
• Completes documentation for removing, stocking and wasting controlled substances as applicable.
• Performs nonsterile compounding following USP standards; sterile IV admixture where applicable.
• Inspects medication storage areas for policy adherence.
• Maintains patient demographic data entry, insurance verification and label generation in the pharmacy system.
• Supports immunization certification and delivery where applicable.
