Job summary

Advocate Aurora Health in Alaska is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist licensed pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications in a satellite OR pharmacy setting. The role supports inventory control, labeling, and regulatory compliance, with emphasis on accuracy and safety.

Hours are 4:30am to 1:00pm, Monday through Friday, with some holiday coverage. Training for CPhT/ExCPT will be provided if needed; candidates must obtain certification within 18 months of start date.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Registration or licensure with state board of pharmacy per state of employment requirements.
• Must receive CPhT or ExCPT certification within 18 months from start date.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed pharmacist in technical duties for preparation and distribution of medications.
• Select, prepare, and label medications including hazardous drugs and controlled substances.
• Support medication distribution tasks and inventory control.
• Screen calls and route via proper telephone etiquette.
• Document and manage controlled substances and perform nonsterile compounding per USP standards.
• Perform sterile IV admixture where applicable and ensure proper aseptic technique.
• Maintain adherence to storage policies and conduct medication history documentation.
• Participate in training and quality improvement initiatives as needed.
