Job summary

Shields Health Solutions in Tampa, FL is seeking a Pharmacy Refill Technician to support pharmacy staff and liaisons. You will handle outbound calls to patients, guide them through the refill process, and ensure timely completion of requests while coordinating with clinicians.

You will document data across systems, maintain accurate stock information, and participate in process improvements. Strong communication, Microsoft Office skills, and confidentiality are essential.

Qualifications

• State registration as a pharmacy technician; national CPhT preferred but not required.
• Minimum 1 year experience; 5–8 years preferred as Pharmacy Technician.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Always show kindness and compassion while assisting patients, providers and pharmacy team members.
• Make outbound patient refill calls and complete refill requests promptly.
• Answer, resolve and triage inbound inquiries appropriately.
• Clarify prescription orders with pharmacist or clinician as appropriate.
• Coordinate medication refills with data entry and correct days supply.
• Assist with claim adjudication, troubleshooting and reject codes.
• Partner with pharmacy to ensure proper in-stock medications.
• Identify medications requiring special storage/handling (hazardous/refrigerated).
• Document work across systems and manage relevant data.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
