Job summary

Reading Hospital is seeking an Assistant Pharmacy Manager to lead the Reading Hospital 5th Avenue Pharmacy, overseeing daily operations for outpatient and specialty services with a focus on patient care, regulatory compliance, and staff development.

The onsite role supports the Pharmacy Program Manager, ensuring accurate dispensing, coaching staff, and maintaining high standards of service and safety for patients across the pharmacy network.

Qualifications

• PharmD degree and PA license required.
• Unrestricted, current state pharmacist license in PA.
• Two to four years of related and progressively responsible experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages full-performance cycle for pharmacy team members (hiring, evaluations, coaching).
• Maintains compliance with Board of Pharmacy standards.
• Oversees procurement and dispensing of outpatient medications and validates prescriptions.
• Counsels patients on medications, dosing, interactions, and requirements.
• Ensures quality assurance and controlled substances security procedures.
