Job summary

Cencora’s Reading Hospital on Fifth Avenue in West Reading, PA seeks a pharmacist with strong patient-care orientation for an onsite, full-time role. The candidate will dispense medications, counsel patients, and collaborate with ambulatory pharmacy teams to optimize outcomes.

The ideal candidate holds a PharmD or B.S. in Pharmacy with PA licensure, and brings experience in retail/ambulatory settings, excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Requires Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or B.S. in Pharmacy from an accredited school
• Current, unrestricted pharmacist license in PA
• Broad training in business, sales, marketing, IT and retail/ambulatory pharmacy

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, prepare and dispense medications per standards and laws
• Perform medication reconciliation upon discharge
• Provide excellent customer service and clinical care
• Counsel patients on medications, dosing, and interactions
• Review patient care plans for therapeutic appropriateness
• Assist in ambulatory pharmacy operations and pricing
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff
• Ensure regulatory compliance and record keeping
• Handle adjudicated prescription claims and reimbursements
• Manage scheduling and payroll for pharmacy staff
