Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a full-time Certified Pharmacy Technician to support non-clinical pharmacy operations and patient services under the supervision of a pharmacist. You will handle prescription data entry, patient registration, and participate in vaccination services where allowed by law.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• PTCB certification (except in Puerto Rico).
• One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
• Willingness to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacist in patient care including patient registration, prescription data entry, preparation of medications, and verification where allowed by law.
• Conduct patient and physician calls under supervision of a pharmacist; assist with vaccines, health screenings where allowed by law.
• Delegate, direct, and assign non-clinical work to technicians within policy and law; ensure on-time task completion.
• Prepare and file reports/records for company and government agencies; manage daily pharmacy schedule and inventory.
• Ensure compliance with Good Faith Dispensing and maintain security safeguards; monitor licensure status via Walgreens systems.
• Communicate prescription errors and support continuous quality improvement; assist in insurance claim processing and payer follow-ups.
