Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a pharmacy intern to perform post-graduate activities under direct supervision to meet State Board requirements. You will counsel customers on medication usage, potential interactions, and preventive health services such as immunizations.

You will assist in compounding, dispensing, review and verification of prescribed medications within regulatory guidelines, and help optimize workflow, inventory, and customer experience.

Qualifications

• Must have a pharmacy degree from outside the U.S. and FPGEC certification.
• Intern permit/certificate and willingness to obtain licensure within 45 days.
• Certified Immunizer status or ability to become one.

Responsibilities

• Counsels patients on usage, side effects, interactions and privacy.
• Performs compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification and medication management.
• Reviews, interprets and dispenses prescribed medications per workload and regulations.
• Supports workflow, inventory management and customer experience improvements.
• Participates in community events and health services education.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from accredited university outside the United States

Foreign Pharmacist Graduate Equivalency Certificate (FPGEC)

Intern permit/certificate from Board of Pharmacy

Willingness to obtain pharmacist licensure within 45 days
