Job summary

Walgreens Boots Alliance is seeking a pharmacy intern to engage in post-graduate pharmacy activities under direct supervision. You will provide patient counseling on medication usage, interactions, and preventive health services such as immunizations, while ensuring proper dispensing and verification within regulatory guidelines.

You will support pharmacy operations, assist the pharmacy manager with workflow optimization, inventory management and customer experience improvements, and collaborate

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from an accredited university outside the United States.
• FPGEC certification or eligibility required by state boards.
• Intern permit/certificate issued by the state Board of Pharmacy, if applicable.
• Willingness to obtain pharmacist licensure within 45 days of intern hours.

Responsibilities

• Counsel patients on medication usage, side effects, interactions and privacy.
• Perform compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification and medication management.
• Dispense prescribed medications accurately and review workload implications.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and company policies; support workflow and assets protection.
• Maintain knowledge of pharmacy IT systems and propose enhancements.
• Assist with insurance claims processing and third-party audits.
• Provide immunizations and preventive healthcare services where appropriate.
