Job summary

Walgreens seeks a Pharmacy intern to engage in post-graduate pharmacy activities under supervision to fulfill State Board requirements. You will provide counseling on medication usage, immunizations, and preventive care while ensuring accurate compounding and dispensation of prescriptions in line with regulations and company policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from an accredited university outside the United States.
• FPGEC certification.
• Intern permit/certificate issued by the respective Board of Pharmacy, if required.
• Willingness to obtain pharmacist licensure within 45 days of intern hours.
• Certified Immunizer or willing to become one within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Counsels patients on usage, side effects, interactions and generic options.
• Performs compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management.
• Reviews and dispenses prescribed medications accurately and compliantly.
• Supports workflow, inventory management and process improvements to optimize service.
• Engages in community and provider outreach to promote wellness services.
