Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a post-graduate pharmacy intern to engage in supervised activities ensuring compliance with state boards and company policies. You will counsel customers on medication usage, monitor drug interactions, and provide preventive health services such as immunizations.

The role involves compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and supporting pharmacy workflow, inventory, and customer experience enhancements under the guidance of licensed pharmacists.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from a non-US university is required.
• FPGEC certification is required for foreign-trained pharmacists.
• Intern permit/certificate per state Board of Pharmacy may be required.
• Willingness to obtain licensure within 45 days of internship completion.
• Certified Immunizer or willingness to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, counsel patients on medication usage, side effects, interactions, and health needs.
• Perform compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification and medication management.
• Dispense prescribed medications accurately and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Open/close the pharmacy and support efficient workflow and inventory management.
• Participate in community outreach and patient education activities.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from accredited University outside the United States

Foreign Pharmacist Graduate Equivalency Certificate (FPGEC)

Intern permit/certificate issued by the respective Board of Pharmacy, if required

Willingness to obtain pharmacist licensure from the respective Board of Pharmacy in the states within the district within 45 days

Certified Immunizer or willing to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire
