Actalent in Cary, NC is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician Intake to review referrals, verify prescription information, and build patient/provider records in a fast-paced specialty pharmacy. This role supports timely patient access to therapies and requires precise data handling.

The ideal candidate holds a CPhT in good standing with NC BOP registration, plus prior pharmacy experience. Onsite schedule with potential hybrid opportunities, contract position, with a daytime weekday cadence.

Qualifications

• Current CPhT certification in good standing.
• Active North Carolina Board of Pharmacy (NCBOP) registration.
• Prior experience in a pharmacy environment.
• Strong data entry and computer skills with high accuracy.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
• Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Review incoming referrals to ensure all required information is complete and ready for processing.
• Create and maintain patient and provider records within pharmacy systems.
• Verify prescription information for completeness and accuracy prior to processing.
• Communicate with healthcare providers to clarify prescriptions, resolve missing information, and provide referral status updates.
• Accurately document referral activity and progress notes to support workflow across teams.
• Enter and maintain provider information, including NPI data.
• Perform high-volume data entry while maintaining accuracy.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support timely patient access to specialty medications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve referral-related issues using sound judgment and problem-solving skills.
• Support additional pharmacy operations and patient access initiatives as needed.
