Customer Experience
- Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
- Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience, including interpersonal habits (e.g., greeting, eye contact, courtesy, etc.) and Walgreens service traits (e.g., offering help proactively, identifying needs, servicing until satisfied, etc.).
Operations
- Provides customers with courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service.
- Recommends items for sale to customers and suggests trade-up and/or companion items.
- Registers customer purchases on the assigned cash register, collects cash, and distributes change as requested; processes voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges as needed. Assists customers in locating products in the OTC aisle when possible.
- Keeps counters and shelves clean and well merchandised, takes inventory, and maintains records. Checks in and prices merchandise as required or as directed by the store or shift manager.
- Performs duties assigned by the Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager, including entering patient and drug information into pharmacy systems, filling prescriptions, verifying medication accuracy, and checking for interactions. Assists pharmacists with scheduling and workflow management.
- Immediately reports prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and adheres to company policies regarding pharmacy errors and quality improvement. Complies with the Walgreens Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
- Strictly follows Walgreens policy on Good Faith Dispensing during all prescription activities.
- Handles non-urgent telephone calls, including those to physicians.
- Processes manual claims for third-party prescription services timely and performs clerical duties as assigned.
- Supports pharmacy inventory management activities, including ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing pharmaceuticals. Maintains knowledge of asset protection techniques and files claims for overages, shortages, or damaged goods.
- Ensures compliance with laws regarding regulated products such as alcohol and tobacco.
- Constructs and maintains displays, including promotional and seasonal displays, and completes resets as directed.
- Assists with product separation, stock rotation, and restocking according to policies.
- Maintains knowledge of store systems and equipment.
- Provides customer service in the photo area, including passport photos, poster prints, and promotional products.
- Handles web pick-up orders, monitors, fills, and delivers orders to customers.
- Maintains store cleanliness and appearance.
- Follows all company policies and maintains respectful coworker relationships.
- Completes special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
Training & Personal Development
- Earns and maintains PTCB certification and/or state certification/registration.
- Attends training, completes PPLs, and acquires continuing education to stay current in healthcare and pharmacy developments.
- Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
- Willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
