Customer Experience
- Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
- Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience, including interpersonal habits (e.g., greeting, eye contact, courtesy, etc.) and Walgreens service traits (e.g., offering help proactively, identifying needs, servicing until satisfied, etc.).
Operations
- Provides courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service to customers.
- Recommends items for sale and suggests trade-up or companion products.
- Handles transactions at the cash register, including collecting cash, giving change, processing voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges. Assists customers in locating products in the store.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of counters and shelves, manages inventory, and records stock levels. Prices and checks in merchandise as directed.
- Supports pharmacy operations by entering patient and drug information into pharmacy systems, filling prescriptions, verifying medication accuracy, and checking for interactions. Assists pharmacists with scheduling and workflow management.
- Immediately reports prescription errors to the pharmacist and adheres to company policies related to pharmacy safety and quality improvement.
- Follows all policies regarding Good Faith Dispensing during prescription activities.
- Handles non-urgent phone calls, including communication with physicians.
- Processes third-party prescription claims and performs clerical duties as assigned.
- Supports inventory management activities, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals. Maintains knowledge of asset protection techniques and files claims for discrepancies or damages.
- Ensures compliance with laws regarding regulated products like alcohol and tobacco.
- Creates and maintains store displays, including promotional and seasonal setups, and completes resets as needed.
- Assists with product placement and stock rotation, especially for food items, following store policies.
- Maintains knowledge of store systems and equipment.
- Provides customer service in the photo area, including passport photos, poster printing, and promotional products.
- Handles web order pickups and ensures timely delivery to customers.
- Supports store cleanliness and appearance through interior and exterior maintenance.
- Follows all company policies, respects coworkers, and completes assigned tasks.
Training & Personal Development
- Maintains PTCB certification and/or state registration through ongoing training and education.
- Participates in training sessions, completes required coursework, and stays updated on healthcare and pharmacy developments.
- Must be fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking), except in Puerto Rico.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, is required.
