- Registers sales on assigned cash register, provides customers with courteous, fair, friendly, and efficient checkout service.
- Assists the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state and federal regulations. Responsible for using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
Customer Experience
- Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
- Shares customer service best practices with team members to deliver a delightful experience, including interpersonal habits (e.g., greeting, eye contact, courtesy) and Walgreens service traits (e.g., offering help proactively, identifying needs, servicing until satisfied).
Operations
- Provides courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service to customers.
- Recommends items for sale and suggests trade-up or companion products.
- Handles transactions including voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges; assists customers in locating products.
- Keeps counters and shelves clean and well merchandised, manages inventory, and maintains records. Checks in and prices merchandise as directed.
- Utilizes pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information, ensuring accuracy; assists in filling prescriptions and verifying medications.
- Reports prescription errors immediately and adheres to company policies and the Quality Improvement Program.
- Follows Good Faith Dispensing policy during prescription activities.
- Handles non-urgent phone calls, including communication with physicians.
- Processes third-party claims and performs clerical duties as assigned.
- Supports pharmacy inventory management, including ordering and receiving pharmaceuticals, and maintains knowledge of asset protection techniques.
- Ensures compliance with laws regarding regulated products (e.g., alcohol, tobacco).
- Constructs and maintains displays, including promotional and seasonal items.
- Assists with product placement and stock rotation, following policies.
- Maintains knowledge of store systems and equipment.
- Provides photo services, including passport photos and promotional products.
- Handles web pick-up orders, including monitoring, filling, and delivering.
- Supports store cleanliness and appearance.
- Follows all policies and maintains respectful relationships with coworkers.
- Completes other tasks as assigned.
Training & Personal Development
- Maintains PTCB certification and/or state registration as required.
- Attends training, completes continuing education, and stays informed on healthcare and pharmacy developments.
Additional notes: Must be fluent in English (except in Puerto Rico) and willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
