Customer Experience
- Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
- Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience, including interpersonal habits (e.g., greeting, eye contact, courtesy, etc.) and Walgreens service traits (e.g., offering help proactively, identifying needs, servicing until satisfied, etc.).
Operations
- Provides courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service to customers.
- Recommends items for sale and trade-up or companion items to customers.
- Handles transactions on the cash register, including collecting cash, giving change, processing voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges. Assists customers in locating products in the store.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of counters and shelves, manages inventory, and records transactions. Assists with pricing and stocking merchandise as directed by management.
- Supports pharmacy operations by entering patient and drug information accurately, assisting with prescription filling, verifying medication accuracy, and checking for interactions. Supports pharmacists in scheduling and workflow management.
- Reports prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist and follows company policies regarding pharmacy errors and quality improvement initiatives. Adheres to the Pharmacy Code of Conduct and Good Faith Dispensing policies.
- Handles non-urgent phone calls, including communication with physicians.
- Processes third-party prescription claims and performs clerical duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager.
- Supports inventory management activities, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals. Maintains knowledge of asset protection techniques and files claims for discrepancies or damages.
- Ensures compliance with laws regarding regulated products like alcohol and tobacco.
- Constructs and maintains displays, including promotional and seasonal setups, and completes resets as directed.
- Assists with food and product placement, stock rotation, and restocking procedures.
- Maintains knowledge of store systems and equipment.
- Provides customer service in the photo area, including passport photos and promotional products.
- Manages web pickup orders, including monitoring, picking, and delivering orders.
- Supports store cleanliness and maintenance to ensure a neat and orderly environment.
- Follows all company policies, maintains respectful coworker relationships, and completes assigned tasks.
Training & Personal Development
- Earns and maintains PTCB certification or relevant state certification/registration.
- Attends training sessions, completes continuing education credits, and stays updated on healthcare and pharmacy developments.
Additional requirements include fluency in English (except in Puerto Rico) and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
