Job summary

Medisca is seeking a Compounding Specialist to support internal and external clients with compounding inquiries and formulation advice. This role focuses on reviewing formulas for safety, efficacy and regulatory compliance, and providing technical guidance to pharmacists and technicians.

You will assist with niche areas such as peptides, hormone restoration therapy, veterinary compounding, and dermatology, while staying current with USP, 503A/503B, and cGMP guidelines.

Qualifications

• Educational background - BS Pharmacy, PharmD or Pharmacy Technician.
• Experience as a Pharmacist with 3 - 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical compounding industry.
• Peptide Formulation and Education experience (Sterile and Non-Sterile).
• 503A, 503B and cGMP experience.
• Knowledge of USP, NAPRA, FDA, Health Canada, boards of pharmacy."
• Experience in training and/or teaching to pharmacists and lab technicians is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Review non-sterile and sterile formulations per client requests.
• Evaluate client requests for safety, efficacy, dosage, and clinical relevance.
• Verify formulas against primary literature and compounding standards.
• Verify API/excipients compatibility and stability in formulations.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for compounding issues.
• Respond to client inquiries via email or phone and consult on niche practice areas.
• Develop SOPs and support continuous quality improvement of formulation databases.
