Job summary

Medisca, based in Plattsburgh, NY, seeks an Assistant Operations Manager to oversee daily warehouse operations, drive efficiency, and support the Operations Manager. You will lead supervisors, manage staff, and coordinate with procurement, sales, and logistics to optimize inventory and processes.

You will monitor performance metrics, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and contribute to budgeting and staff development. This is a full-time role with growth potential.

Qualifications

• College or post secondary education preferred.
• 8+ years supervisory experience leading people in a warehouse environment required.
• OSHA regulations knowledge is an asset.
• Forklift licence is essential.
• Experience with a WMS system and RF scanning guns.
• Dangerous Goods shipping certification is an asset.
• Pharmaceutical industry experience and cgMP knowledge are assets.
• Experience with quality management software is an asset.
• Ability to lift up to 25 kg and proficient at MS Office; fluent English is essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Operations Manager in overseeing day-to-day department operations, including supervising staff and resources.
• Lead and cover department supervisors or the Operations Manager during absences to maintain productivity.
• Develop and implement operational strategies, policies, and procedures to boost efficiency.
• Recruit, train, and supervise operational staff to ensure capability and readiness.
• Monitor performance metrics, identify improvements, and implement quality enhancements.
• Assist in budgeting and cost control to meet financial targets.
• Coordinate with sales, marketing and logistics to align operations with business goals.
• Oversee inventory management and PO processing with procurement to ensure timely replenishment.
• Ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and health and safety standards.
• Address customer concerns promptly and professionally to sustain satisfaction.
• Foster teamwork and continuous improvement among operations staff.
• Work with quality team to meet quality standards and perform training via QMS.
• Ensure SOPs are followed and CGMP regulatory requirements are met.
• Maintain warehouse safety, cleanliness, and working conditions.
