Job summary

DSV is seeking an Ocean Export Manager (Pharma) in Itasca, IL. You will oversee the ocean export process, ensure regulatory compliance, and manage relationships with customers, vendors, and service providers.

The role focuses on pharmaceutical shipments, temperature-controlled handling, and documentation, driving efficiency and service quality. Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s in logistics and about 5 years in freight/logistics, with supervisory experience and knowledge of pharma shipping

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
5 years of experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or related field.
Experience in ocean exports and supervisory roles is desirable.
Experience with pharmaceutical shipments preferred.
Knowledge of documented handling, regulatory requirements for pharma shipments.

Responsibilities

Oversee ocean export process, including shipping documents, customs clearance, and bookings.
Coordinate pharmaceutical shipments with appropriate handling and regulatory requirements.
Apply knowledge of temperature-sensitive cargo requirements to ensure safe shipments.
Coordinate with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and brokers to ensure delivery.
Lead and supervise ocean export coordinators and staff.
