Job summary

Novogradac & Company LLP is seeking a Principal to oversee public housing authority (PHA) audits and related engagements. You will lead planning, staffing, and execution, while ensuring profitability and high-quality deliverables.

The role emphasizes developing new clients and expanding expertise in HUD and compliance audits. You will mentor staff at all levels, manage education and training, and collaborate across the firm to promote the Novogradac brand.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required; CPA preferred/required
• 9+ years of experience in public accounting or equivalent
• CPA license required and strong technical accounting knowledge

Responsibilities

• Oversee client engagements from planning to staffing and delivery with minimal supervision
• Manage engagement profitability, cash collection, and client relationships
• Recruit, develop and mentor staff; conduct annual performance evaluations
• Identify and pursue new clients; meet or exceed sales goals
• Represent the firm externally through conferences, publications, and recruiting events
• Develop technical expertise in PHA, HUD, and compliance-related audits
