Job summary

Novogradac & Company LLP seeks a Principal to oversee a range of audit engagements, primarily PHA/HUD-related, with minimal supervision. The role emphasizes client management, staff supervision, and business development, including maintaining strong relationships with partners and clients across the firm.

You will travel domestically as needed and drive profitability through efficient project delivery while mentoring junior staff and growing practice expertise in governmental and affordable

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA license required.
• 9+ years of public accounting experience with leadership responsibilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage a fee base of at least $1,000,000 and meet sales targets.
• Strong technical accounting and tax knowledge; detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Oversee client engagements from planning to completion with minimal supervision.
• Supervise and mentor staff, conduct reviews and performance conversations.
• Identify and pursue new clients, meet annual sales goals, develop opportunities.
• Lead government and affordable housing audit engagements (PHA/HUD).
• Represent the firm externally and contribute to business development.
