Job summary

Novogradac & Company LLP is seeking a Principal to oversee audit and related engagements, primarily for Public Housing Authority (PHA) audit work. The role emphasizes managing client engagements, mentoring staff, and driving growth with governmental and affordable housing clients.

Based in the Philadelphia area, the Principal will leverage expertise in PHA, HUD, and compliance-related audits, while collaborating with partners to meet firm goals and expand services to public sector housing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (advanced degree is a plus).
• CPA license required.
• 9+ years of experience in public accounting or equivalent.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage fee base of at least $1,000,000.
• Ability to lead, supervise and mentor staff at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Oversee client engagements from planning to completion with minimal supervision.
• Conduct engagement reviews and ensure quality control.
• Supervise and mentor professional staff; support their development.
• Identify and pursue new clients; meet annual sales goals.
• Represent the firm externally and promote firm branding.
• Develop and grow client relationships through professionalism and service.
