Job summary

Novogradac is seeking a Manager to lead audit engagements, primarily for Public Housing Authority (PHA) and HUD programs, with minimal supervision and a focus on staff mentorship and client relations.

You will plan engagements, review work, develop staff, pursue new clients, and contribute to firm profitability while upholding GAAP and auditing standards in a dynamic, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA preferred.
• 5–8 years in public accounting with GAAP and auditing standards exposure.
• Strong written and verbal communication; detail-oriented and organized.
• Ability to lead, mentor staff and manage multiple engagements.
• Willingness to travel domestically and work evenings/weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assume primary responsibility for client engagements, including planning, staffing, timing and technical issues.
• Oversee engagement completion and identify solutions with minimal oversight.
• Conduct engagement reviews and supervise staff and senior accountants.
• Perform annual performance evaluations and manage staff development.
• Assist Principals with identifying and pursuing new clients.
• Develop client relationships and promote firm growth and profitability.
