Job summary

Novogradac & Company LLP is seeking a Manager to oversee PHA/HUD audit engagements and mentor staff while strengthening client relationships. This role focuses on GAAP proficiency, supervisory responsibilities, and increasing office profitability.

You will plan engagements, supervise staff, review work, and collaborate with Principals to win new business, while contributing to firm initiatives and training. Travel domestically is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance; 5–8 years in public accounting
• CPA license strongly preferred
• Expert understanding of GAAP and US auditing standards
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Able to meet internal deadlines and manage a fast-paced workload
• Willingness to travel domestically
• Experience with affordable housing, LIHTC, HUD or related programs helpful

Responsibilities

• Assume primary responsibility for client engagements from planning to staffing, timing, and technical decisions
• Oversee engagement completion with minimal oversight and address issues
• Conduct thorough engagement reviews
• Supervise and mentor staff, guiding technical development
• Complete annual performance evaluations and manage staff performance conversations
• Assist Principals and Partners in identifying and pursuing new clients
• Turn technical knowledge into high-value opportunities for clients
• Promote the firm’s image through panels, publications, and recruiting events
• Develop and grow client relationships through professionalism and service
• Enhance skills through training and ensure profitability through efficient time management
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned
