Job summary

Novogradac seeks an experienced Manager to oversee audit engagements, mentor staff, and cultivate strong client relationships within the Firm’s Tax/Audit practice. The role focuses on government and affordable housing clients, especially PHA and HUD audits, with opportunities to grow specialized expertise.

The Manager will oversee planning, staffing, and technical issues, with minimal supervision, and will help drive profitability while maintaining high-quality engagement deliverables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; 5-8 years public accounting experience; CPA preferred.
• Expert understanding of GAAP and U.S. auditing standards.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and follow-through skills.
• Ability to prioritize a fast-paced workload and manage concurrent priorities.
• Experience with Excel and reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage client engagements including planning, staffing and budgeting.
• Oversee engagement reviews and ensure quality outputs.
• Mentor Senior Accountants and Staff; conduct performance conversations.
• Assist Principals with identifying and pursuing new clients.
• Develop opportunities to convert technical knowledge into client value.
• Promote firm image through panels, publications, trainings, and recruiting events.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and contribute to profitability.
• Support time-entry, billing, and internal deadlines.
