Job summary

Novogradac is seeking a Manager to lead public housing and HUD-related audit engagements, supervising and mentoring staff while strengthening client relationships and driving profitability. The role focuses on PHA audits within the firm’s Tax/Audit practice, with opportunities to expand expertise and contribute to firm growth.

The ideal candidate has a CPA and a strong GAAP background, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, supervise staff, and collaborate across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA license strongly preferred.
• Expert understanding of GAAP and U.S. auditing standards.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrate intellectual curiosity and strong professional judgment.
• Ability to manage a fast-paced workload with multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Assume primary responsibility for client engagements, including planning, staffing, timing and technical issues.
• Oversee completion of engagements with minimal oversight.
• Mentor Senior Accountants and Staff and guide professional development.
• Conduct annual performance evaluations and manage performance conversations.
• Assist Principals and Partners with identifying and pursuing new clients.
• Turn acquired technical knowledge into high value-added opportunities for clients and firm.
• Promote the firm by participating in panels, trainings and publications.
• Grow client relationships through professionalism and service orientation.
• Enhance skills through targeted training and courses.
• Improve office profitability by efficient time management and value-added contributions.
• Undertake other duties and projects as assigned.
