Job summary

The role includes educating clients on general pet care and options for products and services, including prescriptions, while supporting medical recordkeeping. The position requires compassionate, clear communication, ability to work non-traditional hours, and comfort with paw-rinted hazards and busy environments.

Qualifications

• One year of proven past experience helping customers
• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
• Excellent listening and communication skills
• Compassion for pets and people as well as awareness of others' reactions
• Proven decision-making skills to choose the best action
• Ability to integrate new information into problem-solving
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Willingness to work non-traditional hours including nights, weekends and holidays
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and be exposed to pet-related hazards

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors, answer phones, and guide clients and their pets to exam rooms
• Schedule and confirm appointments
• Place outbound calls for follow-ups and outreach to prospective clients
• Present and explain fees, including processing payments
• Recommend and obtain products and services, including prescriptions
• Answer questions about products/services and educate clients on general pet care
• Manage medical records, charts, reports and correspondence
