Job summary

Pet Services of Washington, P.S. seeks a friendly veterinary receptionist to welcome clients and their pets, help them check in, and guide them to exam rooms. You will handle scheduling, answer questions about services, and process payments with accuracy.

The role requires excellent listening and communication, compassion for animals and people, and the ability to work evenings and weekends. You will also assist with basic client education on preventive care and maintain orderly medical records.

Qualifications

• One year veterinary reception experience.
• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
• Excellent listening and communication skills.
• Compassion for pets and people
• Proven decision-making skills to choose the most appropriate course of action.
• The ability to integrate new information into problem-solving.
• Willingness to work non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• The ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and be exposed to hazards associated with pets such as allergies, contagious diseases, noises, odors, bites, scratches, and animal waste.

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors, assist clients and their pets to exam rooms.
• Schedule and confirm appointments.
• Place outbound calls for follow-ups and prospective clients.
• Present and explain fees, including processing payments.
• Recommend, select, and obtain products and services, including prescriptions.
• Answer questions regarding products and services and educate clients on general animal care.
• Manage medical records, charts, reports and correspondence.
